What The Feck: Michael Fassbender

So I am currently watching the 2004 TV series Hex (don't ask) which features a strapping young Michael Fassbender playing a demon named Azazeal. What I cannot understand is why Michael-mania didn't start back then? He is every bit as fetching as he was in Jane Eyre, Haywire and ahem Shame.
I have read some interviews with Michael and he doesn't seem to bring it up at all, bearing in mind that it was his last major role before breaking onto the silver screen with his flowing hair and CGI abs in 300. Could he be ashamed of his smooth-talking demon past?
Anyway, this was all just an excuse to pose this question, that will probably only be of interest to any Irish readers. Do ye remember the man who swan from Clare (guessing) to New York to apologise to some dude in a pub - presumed to be a brother by the similar hairstyles they were sporting - in the Guinness ad about five years ago? And it had that song that everyone was humming afterwards? This is our heyday, baby - remember that??
Well that was none other than Michael fecking Fassbender!

The mind reels. It's like finding out all over again that peanuts grow underground.

Anywho, let's pay homage to the man himself who has more than a few interesting strings in his bow with a little tribute to some of his lesser known roles.

Barney in 2007's Wedding Belles. Let's not revisit that haircut, Michael

In the awful movie Angel, he still manages to be quite sexy despite taking on the undesirable role of a crying, gambling one-legged alcoholic.

... which brought me to this: Fassy's first acting job at the tender age of 21.

Licking his lips when he's hungry - he definitely went to acting school for that.

The Instagram Diaries

After my month-long blogging hiatus, I have finally returned to the keyboard and the first post that I shall bring to you will be a Zambia-themed Instagram Diaries. I have some amount of posting to do in the coming weeks, not only to make up for my recent lack of it but all because I just have so much to share. So here to get the ball rolling are some pictures from more recent trip to Zambia. Unfortunately since where we were staying for the main two week leg of the trip had no electricity the phone wasn't taken out much, it was though for the trip to Nsobe Game Reserve though. Expect to see pictures from Twapia - where the Habitat for Humanity work was being conducted - in future posts.

Winning

So as anyone who follows me on instagram may have seen,  I recently won a piece of jewellery from Scarlett Hearts through the wonderful Irish blog WildChildStories.com. You may have read in my post back in Aprill - Jewellery Is Fantastic - that  Scarlett Hearts is also fantastic. While I think having previously featured this Big Cartel in a post may have helped my winning of it and boy am I happy that it did!

Ciara contacted me a while ago to say I had won, thus beginning the impossible challenge of picking just one lovely piece from all that Scarlett Hearts has to offer - trust me, it was a seriously tough decision. In the end, I settled for the both beautiful and intricate Fancy Spoon. When I was a kid, my grandmother had two little wooden plaques mounted on the wall of her sitting room and on them hung little spoons - just like this one - from various countries and decades. Seeing this beauty reminded me of them which is why I choose it - that and it reminded me a little of Carey Mulligan's Prada frock for the 2010 Oscars for which I have previously expressed adoration! And when I opened that little package I was delighted that I did chose it.

I was particularly delighted to see that the necklace arrived with a little hand-written note on a pink heart shaped - of course - note. Also very impressed with the little red heart bobble at the clasp of the chain which certainly is a sweet little added touch!

So I haven't actually worn it yet but in the name of posting, I grabbed my camera and took a few photos of my highly, ahem, beauty spotted chest.

Isn't it gorgeous?!

The necklace, I mean. Obviously.

Anywho a massive massive thank you to Ciara at Wild Child Stories and Charlotte at Scarlett Hearts.

Cheers for reading,

Jane

P.S. I'm fecking off to Zambia for a little bit with Habitat for Humanity so I'm afraid you won't hear from me for a while. Expect lots of Zambia themed posts though on my return!
